The material and construction is very study and it should last for many seasons. Living at the beach, we use beach umbrella frequently and I grew tired of replacing our umbrella every season, sometimes twice a season. No need to worry about the wind destroying this one!

5.0 out of 5.0 Going "Down the shore" and won't worry about the winds anymore Philly from Philadelphia, PA 9-7-2021 Over the years I've gone through probably 20 umbrellas. Those extremely cheap ones that have ribs no better than metal coat hangers that twist up in 10 mph winds, and one with more solid wood ribs, but are straight and become harder to open over the years. The curved fiberglass polls of the Avalon ensure easy open and close, along with the extra ribs not found on the cheapos. This is a large umbrella at 7.5 feet, so no more huddling by the family to get some shade under the sizes normally found at big box retailers. I wish I had found Frankford umbrellas years ago. I like that I was able to have a choice of different colors and stripes. I want my umbrella to stand out from the others at the beach so the family can easily find it. And lighter colors are better for those low/no wind days.

5.0 out of 5.0 Old School - i.e. it works great! SCOTT from FAIRHOPE, AL 7-22-2020 This umbrella just works so well. It is like the old ones I recall from the Jersey shore. It stays in place when the wind blows. Really well designed and really well made and really tough. We bought the smaller umbrella too to see which we liked but love both of them... and the chairs. After one summer of daily beach use, they look as good as new and I suspect they will last years.
