The umbrella 11' dimension Is determined by umbrella's ribs which are 66 inches in length; following one rib up and over to the other rib is how they get an 11' dimension. It is not a straight across measurement on the underside of a full open umbrella.

Very easy to follow, but why were there no instructions? or at least a piece of paper directing us to u-tube instead of having to hassle?????
