They've only been hit by 50 to 60 mph gusts with umbrella down and they are solid. I bought an extra one and mounted in different locations around pool deck so I can move umbrella throughout the season...3 umbrellas, 4 bases. Love em!

  • 4.0 out of 5.0     Thick steel heavy price brett from  Durant, IA 8-21-2019 This is a very thick and sturdy piece of steel for mounting to concrete. I actually used it for mounting to my cedar deck. The wood mount they sell wasn’t going to fit my application, so I went with this and some extra bracing underneath. The reason I gave this 4 stars is the cost. $60 is a lot of money for a 10 pound piece of steel plate. I feel like when you are buying a $1200-$1500 umbrella they wouldn’t have to charge extra for the mounting bracket.

My husband installed it but had to borrow tools from his mason friend to drill into the concrete. If my husband wasn't handy or didn't have access to the right drilling tool, I'd definitely recommend a professional installer. Once installed, the umbrella is solid and doesn't move in this mount.
